We compost and digest — is it even acceptable for grease to be near the end product?

At the points where lubricant can end up in the process or in the soil, SKF LGGB 2 is the right starting point: an Environmentally Acceptable Lubricant that meets minimum requirements for biodegradability, toxicity, and bioaccumulation. For total-loss applications such as open chains, there is the Ecolabel-certified LGTE 2. Do note the temperature range of LGGB 2, which runs up to +90 °C — for hot-running bearings we choose a different grease.
