SKF literally names LGEP 2 among the typical applications for work-roll bearings in the steel industry: a lithium-soap grease with EP additives, good mechanical stability, and very strong corrosion inhibition under harsh conditions and vibration. Where high temperature and significant water ingress occur together, LGHB 2 is the better choice — it retains its load-carrying capacity and corrosion protection even with heavy water ingress and tolerates peaks up to 200 °C.
